Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful actually, as it sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I'll definitely check around the headlight area for any obvious signs of corrosion. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, has everything been working properly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical issues popping up? Just want to make sure I'm prepared for what might come next with this repair.
Hey again! Just wanted to follow up, I got the issue fixed last week actually! The mechanic found exactly what I suspected based on our earlier chat. It was indeed a cable connection problem with the turn signal, pretty similar to what I had on my X5. The total repair came to 95€, which included fixing the defective cable connection. Not too bad considering how annoying those warning lights were! Everything's working perfectly now, no more crazy flashing or dashboard warnings. The turn signals are responding normally, just like they should. And to answer your question about long-term reliability, since my original repair last summer, I haven't had any other electrical issues pop up. These BMWs are pretty solid once you get the electrical connections sorted out properly. Just make sure whoever works on it knows what they're doing with BMW electrical systems. Sounds like you've got the same issue I had, so hopefully this gives you a good idea of what to expect cost-wise. Let us know how it goes when you get yours fixed!
Thanks for the update! Just got back from my mechanic yesterday, and you were spot on. Had the same wiring issue fixed, though mine was a bit pricier at about 150 since they had to replace some additional connectors that were pretty worn out. But honestly, I'm just relieved it's sorted now! Funny thing is, my mechanic mentioned he's been seeing this problem more often in BMWs of our generation. The guy really knew his stuff, took one look and pointed out exactly where the corrosion was happening. Even showed me the damaged parts, which was pretty cool of him. The best part? No more unusual warning lights giving me mini heart attacks every time I start the car! The turn signals work perfectly now, and the dashboard is finally clear of those annoying error messages. Really appreciate everyone's help on this. Sometimes it just takes someone else's experience to point you in the right direction. Now I can finally enjoy driving without worrying about electrical gremlins!

Hello. Trying to get the scanner to register my new battery and it won’t. 2008 bmw x5 3.0. It’s a 90ah awg battery. Thanks.
Ensure that the battery is properly installed and all connections are secure. Double-check that your scanner is compatible with your BMW model and supports battery registration. If the issue persists, try resetting the scanner or using a different one. If you continue to have trouble, it might be best to consult a professional to ensure the battery is registered correctly. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2013 BMW X5 last summer. The turn signals were going crazy, and I got those unusual warning lights on the dash too. Turned out to be a faulty wiring harness connection near the headlight assembly, some cables were corroded and not making proper contact. My mechanic found that the main connector plug was damaged due to moisture getting in there. They had to replace the harness and reseal the connector properly. It wasn't a super serious issue, but definitely needed fixing to prevent further electrical problems. Before going to the shop, you might want to check if all your fuses are good, though in my case that wasn't the problem. Also, look for any obvious signs of moisture or corrosion around the headlight area if you're comfortable doing that. Based on your symptoms, it sounds very similar to what I experienced. Definitely get it checked out soon, electrical issues can get worse if left alone. Hope this helps!
