Fault stored
Alarm system malfunctions

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! I was actually wondering about the repair costs, since I'm getting quotes from different places. Would you mind sharing how much you ended up paying for the wiring harness replacement? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the repair, or have you noticed any other quirks with the system?
Hey again! Happy to report back! I finally got the issue sorted, took it to a certified BMW mechanic and they fixed it for €95. Turned out to be exactly what I suspected, just a faulty cable connection to the tilt sensor that needed proper repair. Pretty straightforward fix, honestly. The best part? The alarm system has been working perfectly since then. No more unusual alarms going off in the middle of nowhere! It's such a relief not having to worry about the car throwing a fit for no reason. The repair was definitely worth every cent. Funny how something so small can cause such a headache, right? But yeah, if you're getting similar quotes, I'd say that's in the right ballpark. Just make sure whoever does the work knows their way around BMW security systems. These things can be finicky if not handled properly. Let me know how it goes with yours! Always good to hear when fellow BMW owners get these quirks sorted out.
Thanks for the advice! I took the plunge and got it fixed yesterday. What a relief! The mechanic I found was really knowledgeable about BMWs and quoted me a reasonable price. It took about an hour to diagnose and fix the issue. Just like in your case, it was a wiring problem with the tilt sensor. I was nervous at first because of my previous bad experience, but this guy really knew his stuff. The best part? No more unusual alarms! It's amazing how such a small issue can cause so much stress. The repair ended up costing a bit less than I expected, and the service was top-notch. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it gave me the confidence to get this sorted properly instead of putting it off. The car's running like a dream now, and I can finally park without worrying about the alarm going crazy! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
Hello, I have misfiring in my BMW F10 535i xdrive from 2011 N55 engine in the 5 cylinder when the engine is still cold. I have already replaced all 6 injectors, ignition coils. Compression checked, ignition wiring harness replaced, intake manifold checked for soot, cylinder wall checked for scratches with endoscope, everything clean. The car has already been to the BMW workshop and they couldn't say anything more precise. Kind regards

Check the spark plugs for wear or damage, as they can cause misfiring, especially when the engine is cold. If the spark plugs are in good condition, consider checking the fuel pressure to ensure the fuel pump and pressure regulator are functioning correctly. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
Hey there! I actually faced a similar issue with my 2019 BMW X4 last month. The anti-theft system was acting up in the same way, unusual alarms and system malfunctions. Turned out the tilt sensor had a loose connection cable that was causing interference with the system's normal operation. My mechanic found that the wiring harness connected to the tilt sensor module was partially damaged, causing intermittent connection issues. It wasn't a major repair but definitely needed professional attention since it's tied to the car's security system. The fix involved replacing the damaged wiring section and securing the sensor connection properly. If you're getting the same error code, I'd strongly suggest having it checked at a certified BMW service center. These sensor issues can be tricky to diagnose correctly if you don't have the right diagnostic tools, and my previous attempts with independent shops just led to temporary fixes. Hope this helps with your decision.
