Thanks for sharing your experience! My X6 is at 96956 KM and just had its service last month. I'm not seeing any warning lights on the dash except when the comfort system acts up. The issues started gradually over the past few weeks. The error code is showing P0533, which I've read might be related to the AC pressure sensor. Really helpful to know about that loose connection in your case, definitely gives me something specific to ask my mechanic about. Maybe I'm dealing with something similar since our symptoms match up pretty well. I'll have them check the wiring connections first before replacing any expensive parts.
Hey again! Thanks for providing those extra details about your X6. You know, after reading about your error code P0533, I'm actually thinking our issues might be a bit different. While mine was just a loose connection, that specific code points towards the AC pressure sensor, which makes sense given all your symptoms. In my case, after that initial fix I mentioned, I actually had the issue pop up again a few months later. Turned out the simple wire fix was just masking a bigger problem, my climate control module had some water damage that wasn't obvious at first. The mechanic had to replace the entire module, which was way more expensive than my initial repair (around 800 for parts and labor). Since you've got that P0533 code and you're not showing other warning lights, I'd suggest having them specifically check the AC pressure sensor first. That's probably going to be a more straightforward fix than what I ended up dealing with. Plus, with your mileage being similar to what mine was, these kinds of issues aren't uncommon. Just make sure they do a proper diagnostic before replacing parts. Wish I'd done that the first time around, would've saved me some cash in the long run! Let us know what you find out, yeah?
I'd write this Thanks for the detailed follow-up! That's really interesting about your climate control module having water damage, definitely something I'll ask them to check for while they're in there. I appreciate the heads-up about getting a proper diagnostic first. You're right that the P0533 code seems to point more specifically to the AC pressure sensor rather than a general wiring issue. I've actually just scheduled an appointment with my mechanic for next week. I'm going to have them start with checking the AC pressure sensor as you suggested, but also ask them to inspect for any signs of water damage or other underlying issues while they're at it. Really don't want to end up replacing parts unnecessarily like in your situation. It's good to know these issues aren't uncommon at this mileage, makes me feel a bit better about the whole situation. I'll definitely update once I find out what's actually causing all these problems. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it's been super helpful!
Hey there! I have some experience working on cars and had a very similar issue with my 2016 BMW X4 last year. These symptoms sound really familiar to me. Had all sorts of comfort control problems too, my AC was acting up and the heating systems were going crazy. Took it to my regular workshop and turns out it was just a faulty wiring connection to the climate control module. The mechanic found a loose plug that wasn't making proper contact. The fix was pretty straightforward, they had to remove some trim panels, reconnect and secure the plug properly. Cost me about 95 Euro for the whole job, including diagnostic time. Been working perfectly since then. Before I share more specific details about what my mechanic did, could you share: Does your X6 show any warning lights on the dashboard? Have you noticed if these issues started suddenly or gradually? What's the exact error code you're getting?
