Need help with BMW X6 2012 suspected charge air temp sensor issue. Getting check engine light, reduced power, and whistling/hissing sounds during acceleration. Anyone dealt with similar symptoms and can share their repair experience? Mainly interested in workshop solutions that worked for you.

Hey, thanks for the detailed response! Just had my latest service done at 164049 KM and the mechanic did scan for codes. The whistling is most noticeable between 2000-3000 RPM. Haven't had any recent work done on the intake. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it's helpful to know it might just be a connection issue rather than having to replace the entire sensor. Will definitely get those wiring connections checked out first. Sounds like a much more manageable fix than I was worried about!

Thanks for the extra tips! Really good to know about the contact cleaner, will skip trying that band-aid solution and go straight for the proper fix. Appreciate the heads up about checking the charge pipe connections too. Will definitely ask my mechanic to look at those while they're working on it. Super helpful to hear from someone who's been through the same thing. Thanks again for taking the time to share all this, I feel much more confident about getting it sorted now. I'll probably book it in next week and get it all checked out properly!

Let our mechanics help you!
