Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since it sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Quick follow-up, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other suspension-related issues popping up? Just trying to get an idea of what I might be looking at cost-wise and if I should expect any other problems down the line.

Hey there! Yes, happy to give you the update on my X5's repair situation. I actually just had this fixed last month, ended up costing me 590 € for the faulty suspension air bag valve replacement. I know it's not cheap, but honestly, it was worth every penny because the car's running like a dream now! Since getting it sorted, the suspension's been perfect, no more wonky ride height, no more warning lights, and that annoying tilt is completely gone. The car feels stable and smooth again, just like when it was new. It's such a relief not having to worry about every bump in the road anymore! I've put about 3,000 km on it since the repair, and I haven't noticed any other suspension issues at all. Everything's working exactly as it should. If you're experiencing similar symptoms, I'd definitely recommend getting it sorted sooner rather than later. These things tend to get more expensive if you let them drag on, and it can cause damage to other parts of the suspension system. Trust me, once you get it fixed, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. The difference in ride quality is like night and day!

Thanks for all that detail! I actually just got back from the mechanic today and thought I'd update you. You were spot on about the valve block, that's exactly what it was. Ended up going to a new mechanic who specializes in European cars, and I'm really glad I did. The whole experience was surprisingly smooth. They diagnosed it quickly, had the parts on hand, and got it fixed in just one day. Cost me a bit more than yours, around 750 € total, including labor and some additional air line work they found needed doing. But honestly, the car feels amazing now. No more leaning, no more error messages, and the ride height is perfect again. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it helped me know what to expect and gave me confidence that this was the right fix. Guess these air suspension issues are pretty common on our BMWs! Anyway, thanks again for the help. Time to enjoy my properly functioning car again!

I faced almost identical issues with my 2014 BMW X5 35i last year. The symptoms were exactly what you're describing, uneven ride height, error messages, and that awful tilting to one side. The problem turned out to be a faulty air suspension valve block. In my case, the valve was completely shot and wasn't regulating the air pressure properly anymore. It wasn't just a minor inconvenience, driving with this issue can actually damage other suspension components if left unchecked. The repair involved replacing the entire valve block assembly and recalibrating the suspension system. They also had to check all the air lines for any leaks while they were at it. The job took about a day and a half at the shop. If you're getting these symptoms, I'd strongly recommend getting it checked soon. This isn't something that'll fix itself, and it'll only get worse with time. The repair itself isn't super complicated for a skilled technician who knows BMWs, but you definitely want someone who has experience with air suspension systems.
