BMW X3 Engine Struggles: Rough Starts and Strange Noises

Hello everyone, I'm experiencing some troubling issues with my 2019 BMW X3 20i (B48, xDrive) and would appreciate any insights or advice. The engine is unsteady, takes longer to start when cold, and sometimes starts briefly before shutting off again. There's also a clicking/knocking noise from the engine, and it's hard to start. These issues are more pronounced after the car sits for a few days. When I press the start button, the engine tries to start but stops after a second. On the second attempt, it starts roughly, shakes, and makes a strange noise. Additionally, when stopped at a traffic light with the AC on, the RPM sometimes drops suddenly as if the engine wants to shut down, but then it recovers. The cold start takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds, which seems quite long. After a short trip, I noticed a strong petrol smell from the oil cap. I've already replaced the spark plugs, engine oil, and filters every 8000 km, and changed the gearbox and drivetrain oils, as well as the fuel tank vent valve. Has anyone experienced similar issues or have any suggestions on what might be causing these problems? Thanks in advance for your help!

Check the battery voltage and connections first, as a weak battery can cause starting issues and rough idling. Ensure the battery terminals are clean and tightly connected. If the battery is old or weak, consider replacing it. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

The battery has been already checked and it's in a very good condition. It was replaced last year with a new one.

Inspect the fuel injectors for any clogs or leaks, as these can cause rough starts and unsteady engine performance. You might also want to check the fuel pressure to ensure it's within the recommended range. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions!
