BMW X2 Stalling Issues: Fuel Pressure Sensor Problems?

Shaking while idling

Hey all BMW X2 owners, my 2020 X2 with gas engine is acting up lately. The engine's running rough, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration, plus the check engine light is on. I suspect it might be the fuel pressure sensor. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? Curious to hear what the actual problem was and how your mechanic fixed it. Please share your repair experiences. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your X3 experience! My X2 is currently at 108606 KM and just had its regular service last month. Haven't had any previous fuel system work done. The interesting thing is, shortly after posting this, I got the error code checked, it's showing P0171, which points to a lean fuel mixture. Your sensor cable issue sounds similar, though I'm a bit worried it might be something more serious. Maybe I should get the fuel pressure checked first before assuming it's the sensor? Would love to hear if anyone else faced these exact symptoms with an X2.

Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! You've given me a lot to think about, especially with that insight about vacuum leaks and the mass airflow sensor. Come to think of it, I have been hearing a faint whistling noise recently, but I honestly didn't pay much attention to it. I just called my mechanic and booked an appointment for tomorrow morning, I'll have them check everything you mentioned: the fuel pressure, vacuum system, and that mass airflow sensor. They actually didn't clean the sensor during my last service, so that could definitely be part of the problem. Really appreciate everyone's help here! I'll update the thread once I find out what's actually causing the issue. It's super helpful to learn from other BMW owners' experiences, even if they're driving different models. Fingers crossed it's something relatively simple like a vacuum leak or dirty sensor rather than a major fuel system problem. Thanks again for all the suggestions!
