BMW X2 Multiple Oil Warning Lights, Sensor Problem?

Thanks for asking those details! My X2 has 72788 KM and just had its service last month. I did check with the dipstick and the oil level seems perfectly fine. No weird engine noises at all, it runs smooth as usual. Your experience sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with right now. I was worried it might be something major, but hearing that it could just be a wiring issue is actually a relief! Did your mechanic have to do any special diagnostics before finding the faulty connection? I'm thinking of taking it in next week, and it would be helpful to know what to expect.

Hey again! Wow, those details make me even more convinced it's the same issue I had with my X1. The fact that your oil level is good and there are no engine noises is really reassuring, exactly like my situation. About the diagnostics, yeah, my mechanic first hooked up the computer diagnostic tool to confirm the error codes. It took him maybe 30 minutes to locate the exact spot where the wiring was damaged. In my case, it was near where the harness connects to the sensor, there was some wear and tear that caused intermittent connection issues. I remember feeling pretty nervous about all those warning lights too, but it turned out to be a relatively simple fix. My mechanic showed me the damaged wiring afterward, it was actually pretty obvious once he pointed it out. The insulation had worn through in one spot, causing those crazy readings. Since your X2 is only a couple years newer than my X1, they probably use a similar wiring setup. Just make sure your mechanic checks the whole length of the wiring harness, not just the sensor itself. Mine originally thought it was just the sensor until he traced the whole connection. Let me know how it goes when you get it checked out! I'm curious if it's the same issue.

Thanks so much for all this detailed info! It's super helpful to know exactly what to expect. I feel much better now knowing that your situation was so similar and had a straightforward fix. I've already called my mechanic and booked it in for next Tuesday. You're right, I was getting really worried about all those warning lights, but hearing about your experience has definitely calmed my nerves. I'll make sure to ask them to check the entire wiring harness like you suggested, not just the sensor itself. The cost seems reasonable too, definitely better than what I was imagining! I'll update you once I get it sorted. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience in such detail. Thanks again for all your help!

Hey there! I've got some experience with BMWs as I went through something very similar with my 2017 BMW X1. The symptoms were almost identical, oil warnings going crazy and sensor readings all over the place. Turned out it was indeed the oil sensor connection that was causing all these warnings. The wiring harness connecting to the sensor had some damage, causing faulty readings. My mechanic found the faulty connection during diagnostics, replaced the cable and plug assembly, and that sorted everything out. Cost me around 95 Euro for the fix, including labor. Before jumping to conclusions though, I'd need to know: Have you checked your actual oil level manually with the dipstick? Any unusual engine noises? How many miles/kilometers on your X2? Let me know these details, and I might be able to help further or confirm if it's the same issue I had. Good luck!
