Jerking on acceleration

Thanks for sharing your experience! I've got the same symptoms with my X2 at 160965 KM. My issue started pretty suddenly last week after my regular service. The error codes I'm getting are P0300 and C1241. The jerking during acceleration is really concerning me, especially since it happens even with gentle throttle input. Did your repair fix the jerking issue completely? I'm hoping it's just the relay like in your case, but wanted to check if anyone else had similar codes before heading to the workshop.
Hey again! Thanks for providing those error codes. I had my issue with my X1 at around 150,000 KM, so pretty similar mileage to yours. Those error codes actually match what I was getting too, the P0300 (unusual misfire) and C1241 (ASC signal issue) were exactly the same. What's interesting is that your issue started after a regular service, mine was totally unusual. But yeah, the relay replacement completely fixed the jerking problem in my case. Haven't had a single issue since then. The jerking was exactly like you described, even with light throttle input, it would act up. Just to give you a bit more detail about my experience, after the relay replacement, my mechanic also did a system reset to clear all the codes. It's really important to do this step, as sometimes the error codes can stick around even after fixing the actual problem. If you want my honest opinion, given that we had identical error codes and symptoms, I'd say you're likely dealing with the same relay issue. But since yours started after a service, might be worth asking if they touched anything related to the ASC system during the maintenance. Just to rule out any connection there. Keep us posted on what you find out! Always curious to hear how these things turn out.
Wow, this is super helpful! Really appreciate you taking the time to share all these details about your experience. It's actually quite relieving to hear that you had the exact same error codes and symptoms, and that it turned out to be something relatively simple and affordable to fix. I'll definitely mention the relay possibility when I take it in. You make a good point about the timing with my recent service, I'll definitely ask them about that. I've just booked an appointment for tomorrow morning, and I feel much more confident now going in with this information. Will ask them to check the relay first before diving into more complex diagnostics. Thanks again for walking me through your experience, it's exactly the kind of firsthand info I was hoping to get here. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out. Fingers crossed it's just the relay!
Hi there! I have some experience working on BMWs and had a similar issue with my 2019 BMW X1 last year. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I went through, same warning lights and jerking during acceleration. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty ASC relay. Had my trusted workshop replace it and everything went back to normal. The whole thing cost me around 90 Euro and took about an hour to fix. Before you head to the workshop, could you share what error codes you're getting? Also, when did these symptoms first start, was it sudden or gradual? This info would help me confirm if it's the same issue I had. Just a heads up, while my X1 had this problem, different BMW models can have similar symptoms for different reasons. But based on what you're describing, I'd bet it's relay-related.
