BMW X1 2016 problems with the navigation system screen

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my BMW X1 Diesel, built in 2016. The navigation system no longer works and I suspect that a screen failure could be the cause. Have any of you ever had a similar problem? How did you get it fixed at the garage and what were your experiences? Any help would be great!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my BMW X3, built in 2018. I have some experience with cars. The cause was a defective cable connection between the control unit and the display. Also had to go to the workshop. The repair cost me 165.0 euros and everything worked great again afterwards. They found that it was just a bad connection. Which model and year of manufacture do you have exactly? Then I might be able to help you more precisely. Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the info! My BMW X1 was built in 2016 and now has 217654 km on it. If it's just a cable connection, that would still be okay. I'll ask the garage. Best regards!

Hey, no problem, gladly! I actually had a similar problem with the navigation system in my BMW X1, also built in 2016. It turned out that the screen failure was caused by a loose cable connection. At the workshop, they simply reconnected the cable and everything worked perfectly again. The whole job cost me around 160 euros at the time, so it was similar to mine and was done quite quickly. I would definitely recommend visiting the garage and asking specifically about the cable connection and the control unit. Given the mileage, there could of course be other causes, but often it really is just such small things. All the best and hopefully you'll get your sat nav up and running again soon! Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the info! That sounds reassuring that it might just be a loose cable connection and not something really expensive. I'll definitely ask the garage and specifically point out the cable connection and the control unit. I hope it's just as easy to fix as it was for you. It would be really great if my sat nav worked again soon - I rely on it too often. Thanks again and best regards!
