Need help with 2024 BMW iX2 keyless system issues My iX2 started acting up recently, can't lock/unlock properly and won't start without physically inserting the key. Checked the error memory and found some codes. Suspect it might be related to the bumper antenna but not entirely sure. Has anyone dealt with similar issues? Would really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences and what the actual problem turned out to be. What did your workshop do to fix it?

Hey there! I had a pretty similar issue with my 2022 BMW iX M60 last year (I also own an i4). I have some experience working on EVs, but nothing too advanced. My car had the exact same symptoms, keyless entry stopped working and I had to use the physical key. Took it to my regular workshop and they found it was just a loose connection in the wiring harness near the front bumper antenna. Total repair cost was 95 Euro, mainly labor for tracking down the issue and fixing the connection. Before I can share more specific details though, could you tell me which error codes you're getting? Also, does this happen consistently or is it intermittent? This info would help determine if you're dealing with the same problem I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm having this exact same issue with my 2024 iX2 (95985 KM). The error codes I'm getting are DTC B122A00 and B122B18. It's happening pretty consistently now, was intermittent at first but got worse over the past week. Good to hear your fix was relatively straightforward and inexpensive! My last service was just two months ago and everything was fine then. Really hoping it's just a wiring issue like yours and not something more serious with the antenna module itself. Did your warning messages disappear immediately after the repair?

Hey again! Thanks for sharing those error codes. Yes, my iX M60 had the exact same DTCs! And just like yours, my issue also started intermittently before becoming a constant problem. Interesting how similar our situations are. When they fixed my loose connection, the warning messages disappeared right after they cleared the codes. However, I'd recommend driving for at least a day to make sure everything's working properly. In my case, I did one full day of normal driving just to be certain all systems were back to normal. One thing I forgot to mention in my first reply, before taking it to the workshop, I actually tried cleaning the key fob contacts and replacing the battery, thinking that might help. Totally didn't make a difference, so I wouldn't waste your time with that. Given the same error codes and symptoms, I'm pretty confident you're dealing with the same wiring harness issue. The repair should be quite straightforward for any decent BMW workshop. Just make sure they check all the connections around that front bumper area thoroughly, there are several contact points that could be the culprit. Let me know how it goes after you get it checked out. Always good to compare notes with fellow BMW owners!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Really helpful to know you had the identical error codes and progression of symptoms. I'll skip the key fob battery replacement then, was actually considering that as a first step, so you saved me some time there! I've just booked it in at my local workshop for tomorrow morning. Will definitely have them check all those connection points you mentioned around the bumper area. It's such a relief to hear it's likely just a wiring issue, I was worried I'd need to replace the entire antenna module which would've been way more expensive. Really appreciate you sharing your experience in such detail. I'll definitely do that test drive after they fix it to make sure everything's working properly. Will update this thread once it's sorted in case anyone else runs into the same problem with their iX2 in the future. Thanks again for all your help! It's great to get advice from someone who's already dealt with the exact same issue.
