Thanks for sharing your experience! My iX2 is pretty new, just crossed 66299 KM on the clock at my last service. Actually, I've noticed the audio issues happen more frequently when using Bluetooth streaming compared to the native radio. It's definitely concerning since mine came with the premium Harman Kardon setup. Good to know about the speaker replacement, I'll keep that in mind when I take it to the workshop next week. Has anyone else faced similar issues specifically with Bluetooth audio?
Hey again! Yeah, what you're saying about the Bluetooth actually rings a bell with my experience. After you mentioned it, I remember my issues were definitely worse with Bluetooth streaming too. I've got the same Harman Kardon system in my iX3. Before I got the speaker replaced, I actually tried some troubleshooting, deleted all paired devices and re-paired my phone, even tried different phones to rule out device-specific issues. But the problems persisted. Just out of curiosity, have you tried playing music through USB or Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to see if the issue still happens? In my case, it occurred across all sources eventually, but it started mainly with Bluetooth. The workshop did mention that sometimes these issues can also be related to the amplifier rather than just the speaker. In my case, it was definitely the speaker, but might be worth having them check both when you take it in. Since you've got a newer model than mine, it might even be covered under warranty. Keep us posted on what they find, always good to know what's causing these issues in newer models.
Thanks for the detailed follow-up! Actually, I tried your suggestion about testing different audio sources right after reading your message. You're right, while USB playback seems more stable, the issues still pop up occasionally. I hadn't thought about checking the amplifier, that's really helpful advice. I just called the workshop and booked it in for next Tuesday. They mentioned they've seen a few similar cases with the new iX models, so hopefully they'll sort it quickly. Since mine's still under warranty, fingers crossed for the repair costs! Really appreciate your help with troubleshooting this, it's given me a much better idea of what to discuss with the technicians. I'll definitely update the thread once I know what's causing it, might help others with similar problems.
Hey there! Got some experience with car audio systems. I had a similar issue with my 2022 BMW iX3 (came from an i4 before that). The symptoms were exactly like yours, unusual subwoofer cuts, crackling, and complete audio failures. Took it to my regular workshop and they found a faulty bass speaker that was causing all these problems. The fix was straightforward but not cheap, got the speaker replaced for about 280 Euro. Been working perfectly since then, no more audio issues at all. Before I can help more specifically, could you tell me if you notice any pattern when the issues occur? Like during specific weather conditions or after using certain audio sources? Also, which audio system package do you have installed?
