Thanks for sharing your experience! My iX1 recently hit 82,551 KM and it's been about a week since I noticed this issue. No warning lights on the dash, and I actually topped up the washer fluid just last month during service. Really helpful to hear about the relay and cable connection, I'll definitely mention that when I take it in. That repair cost seems reasonable. Hoping it's something similar and not a bigger electrical gremlin!

Hey again! Thanks for the additional info about your iX1. Yeah, that sounds really similar to what I experienced. My iX3 was around 75,000 KM when it happened, so pretty close to your mileage. The lack of warning lights is actually a good sign, when I had my issue, there weren't any warning lights either. The headlight cleaning system wasn't the culprit in my case, and I doubt it's yours either. Since you mentioned you topped up the fluid recently during service, we can definitely rule out low fluid levels. In my case, it turned out the cable had worn through due to normal vibration over time, pretty common in these models actually. The workshop showed me the damaged cable, and it was clearly worn at a point where it rubbed against a bracket. Quick question, have you tried manually activating the washer pump by pulling the stalk? When mine failed, it made absolutely no sound when trying to activate it. If you're getting the same silence, it's probably identical to my issue. I'd bet you're looking at the same repair I had. The labor wasn't too intensive, took them about an hour and a half to fix everything.

Thanks so much for all that detailed info! Actually, you just reminded me to try the manual activation, and yep, dead silence when pulling the stalk. That's super helpful to know it matches your experience exactly. Really reassuring to hear it was a straightforward fix for you, especially since our cars had similar mileage when the problem showed up. I've already called my dealer for an appointment next week, and I'll definitely mention the cable wear issue you described. Hoping for that same quick turnaround time! Thanks again for helping me narrow down the problem, this has made me feel a lot better about what I might be dealing with.

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2021 BMW iX3 (also have an i4 in the garage). I'd say I have some experience working with EVs, but I'm no expert. Had exactly the same symptoms, washer and auto wipers stopped working simultaneously. Took it to my trusted workshop and they found a faulty cable connection to the washer pump. The relay was also affected. Total repair cost was 165 Euro, and everything's been working perfectly since then. Before suggesting more specific solutions, could you share: How long has this been happening? Did you notice any warning lights? Have you checked the washer fluid level? This could help pinpoint if you're dealing with the same issue I had.
