Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience with the radar sensor issue. Very helpful to know it might just be a cleaning and recalibration job. Would you mind telling me roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, just curious, have you had any recurring issues since they sorted it out? Cheers!
Hey again! Just to follow up, after getting the sensor cleaned and recalibrated, everything's been working perfectly on my iX3. The whole thing only cost me 45€, which was basically just for the cleaning and diagnostic check. Much cheaper than I initially feared! Haven't had a single problem with the radar systems since then. The adaptive cruise control is back to working smoothly, and all those annoying warning lights disappeared completely. It's funny how something as simple as dirt can cause such a headache with these modern cars! If your issue turns out to be similar, you'll probably be looking at a similar quick fix. These sensors are pretty reliable once they're properly cleaned and calibrated. Just make sure whoever works on it knows what they're doing with BMW's systems. Let me know how it goes with yours!
Hey, thanks for all the info! Just wanted to update you on what happened with my iX1. I took your advice and got it checked out. Turns out my issue was a bit different, had a faulty wiring connection to the radar sensor. The mechanic I found was actually great, really knew his stuff about BMWs. Fixed it in about three hours and the whole thing was covered under warranty since my car's still pretty new. Funny thing is, while I was there, they did give the sensor a good clean too, just like in your case. The mechanic mentioned it's pretty common for these high-tech sensors to act up if they're not maintained properly. Everything's working perfectly now, no more Christmas tree dashboard! Really appreciate you sharing your experience. It helped me feel more confident about getting it sorted rather than just worrying about it. Thanks again for your help!
Hey there! I can relate to your sensor concerns. I had a similar issue with my 2020 BMW iX3 last year. The dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with multiple warnings, and the adaptive cruise control stopped working completely. Turned out the front radar sensor was indeed the culprit, it had gotten dirty and partially blocked from road debris and winter grime. In my case, it wasn't actually a serious issue. The technician cleaned the sensor area thoroughly and recalibrated the system. The whole process took about two hours. Since your iX1 has such low mileage, I'd definitely have it checked under warranty at a certified dealership. These sensors are quite sensitive, and even small obstructions can trigger multiple system warnings. Make sure to ask them to check if there's any physical damage to the sensor housing as well. Hope this helps!
