Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's been showing the warning for about a week now, and it's the front passenger side tire that's triggering it. I've actually checked all tire pressures manually and they're spot on according to specs. Just had my latest service done, and with 123711 KM on the clock, I want to make sure I stay on top of maintenance. Really hoping it's just the sensor and not something more serious! Did your warning come and go, or was it constant? At this point, I'm leaning towards booking it in for a proper diagnostic, but wanted to check with the community first.
Hey again! Thanks for those details, that's super helpful. You know what? Your situation sounds exactly like what I went through. My warning was also constant, not intermittent, and coincidentally, it was also my front passenger side that was giving me grief! Since you've already checked the actual tire pressures (smart move, by the way), and they're all good, I'm even more convinced it's the same sensor issue I had. Mine started acting up around 120000 KM, pretty close to your mileage. The fact that you're getting a consistent warning, despite correct pressure readings, is pretty much identical to what I experienced. Looking back, I probably could've saved myself some stress by going straight to the workshop instead of trying different fixes myself. The sensor replacement they did for me sorted it completely, haven't had a single warning since. Here's a tip though, when you book it in, make sure they check the other sensors too. My mechanic mentioned these sensors typically have similar lifespans, so you might want to consider replacing them all if they're getting close to their end. I didn't do this and ended up having to replace another one about 6 months later. Learned that lesson the hard way! Let me know what you find out when you get it checked. Really interested to hear if it turns out to be the same issue!
Thanks so much for all that detailed info! You've actually made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I'll definitely take your advice about getting all the sensors checked while it's in the shop, really don't fancy making multiple trips if the others decide to fail soon too. Just booked it in for next week, and I made sure to mention checking all sensors when I made the appointment. I'll probably go ahead and replace them all if they recommend it, like you said, better than dealing with this issue multiple times! Really appreciate you sharing your experience, especially the heads up about the other sensors potentially failing. Will let you know how it goes after the appointment. Thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2022 BMW i4 last year. I have some experience working on cars, mostly basic maintenance stuff. When I got those exact same warnings, I first tried resetting the TPMS system (didn't work). My local workshop diagnosed it as a dead sensor battery in one of the wheels. The repair cost me about 280 Euro, they had to replace the sensor completely since these batteries aren't separately replaceable. Pretty straightforward fix, took them about an hour. Just to be thorough, which tire is showing the warning? Have you checked if there's actual low pressure in any of the tires? How long has the warning been showing up? I've seen similar issues with other BMWs (including the iX), so let me know these details and I might be able to help more!
