Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine was just serviced last week, and with 138126 KM on the clock, I'm getting worried about repair costs. Actually, I've noticed the issue gets worse after long drives, especially on warm days. The leaning starts gradually but becomes more noticeable over time. Yesterday, it wouldn't even lift after being parked for just a couple of hours. Good to hear yours was just a wiring issue, gives me hope it might not be as expensive as I feared. Did your workshop mention any preventive measures I should consider?
Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your car. You know, hearing about the issues getting worse after long drives and in warm weather actually reminds me exactly of what happened with mine before I got it fixed. My mechanic did mention that heat can really mess with these systems, especially if there's a wiring issue like I had. But here's something interesting, while mine turned out to be just a loose connection, they also found that the area around the wiring harness needed a good cleaning. Apparently, dirt and grime can build up over time and cause connection problems. With your mileage being similar to what mine was (I was at about 142000 KM when this happened), the workshop suggested a few preventive steps that really helped me: Getting the air suspension system checked during every major service, Having them clean the electrical connections while they're at it, Listening for any unusual compressor sounds (mine made a weird clicking noise before the problems started) I'd definitely suggest getting it checked soon though. The leaning getting worse over time isn't a great sign, but it doesn't necessarily mean a major repair. My BMW's been running perfectly for the past year since that simple fix. Keep us posted on what your workshop finds, I'm curious to know if it's the same issue I had!
Thanks so much for the detailed response! You've actually made me feel a lot better about this whole situation. I'll definitely get those preventive measures done, didn't know about the importance of cleaning those electrical connections. Come to think of it, I've been hearing some odd clicking sounds too, just didn't pay much attention to them before. I've already called my workshop and booked it in for tomorrow morning. They seemed pretty confident after I mentioned your experience with the wiring harness issue. The fact that your car's been running perfectly for a year after such a simple fix is really encouraging. I'll make sure to have them check all those areas you mentioned, especially the electrical connections and general cleanliness around the system. Really hoping it turns out to be something as straightforward as yours was! Thanks again for all the helpful information, I'll definitely update the thread once I know what's going on with mine.
Hi there! I've got some experience with BMWs and went through something similar with my 2021 BMW 7 series diesel. I also own a BMW 4, so I'm fairly familiar with these cars. I had nearly identical symptoms, car leaning, suspension warning, misaligned headlights. Took it to my workshop and they found it was just a loose connection in the wiring harness to the compressor. The cable had worked its way loose over time, causing intermittent issues. Total repair was 95 Euro, mostly labor for diagnosing and fixing the connection. Could you share some more details about when these issues started? Does it happen more after the car's been parked for a while? Also, what's your mileage? This could help pinpoint if we're dealing with the same problem. Let us know more details and I'll try to help further.
