Blower does not work properly

Hey car enthusiasts, need your input on my 2023 BMW 7 Series Hybrid (181,459 KM). The blower stopped working completely and throwing an error code. Had a not-so-great experience with my previous mechanic, so I'm hesitant about where to take it. Has anyone dealt with a similar blower issue on their BMW? Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2020 BMW 530e Hybrid just a couple months ago. The blower completely died on me too, and the error code pointed to the blower motor regulator. When I took it to the garage, they found that both the blower motor and regulator were defective. The technician explained that moisture had gotten into the system, causing corrosion on the electrical connections. It wasn't just a simple fix, they had to replace the entire blower motor assembly and regulator unit. It was definitely a serious repair that took about 4-5 hours to complete, as they had to partially dismantle the dashboard to access the components. The hybrid system makes these repairs more complex than in traditional vehicles. My advice would be to get it checked ASAP because driving without proper ventilation can lead to bigger issues, especially with the hybrid battery cooling system. Make sure whoever works on it has specific experience with BMW hybrid systems, it's not something you want a general mechanic tinkering with.

Hey again! Good news, since my last post, I got everything sorted with the blower. I took it to the specialist and they fixed it up perfectly, total bill came to 365 € for replacing the defective blower motor. Honestly, it was worth every penny because the ventilation system is working like a charm now. No more error codes or issues since the repair, which is a huge relief! I know in my first message I mentioned both the motor and regulator were problematic, but turns out the motor was the main culprit. The mechanic did a thorough job checking everything, and since the fix, my 530e has been running great, the climate control system works exactly as it should. For your 7 Series, you might be looking at similar costs, though prices can vary. But I'd definitely say get it sorted soon, these things don't fix themselves and you don't want it causing any other problems. I actually went ahead and took my 7 to a certified hybrid specialist yesterday. Turns out my issue was also a faulty blower motor, just like yours. The repair cost me a bit more, around 450 €, probably because of the different model and additional labor time. But honestly, it was worth it. The ventilation is working perfectly now, and the error code has disappeared completely. The mechanic also did a quick check of the entire system and confirmed everything else is running fine.
