Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! Really helpful to know it was just the switch unit in your case. Do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, curious if you've had any other window-related issues pop up since getting it fixed? My mechanic's quoting me quite a high price, so I'm trying to figure out if it's reasonable or if I should look elsewhere.

Hey again! Just wanted to follow up, I actually got my window issue sorted last week! You'll be glad to hear it WAS indeed just the power window switch that was acting up, just like what happened with mine. The mechanic confirmed there was nothing wrong with the regulator after all. The total bill came to 200€, which included both parts and labor. Pretty reasonable considering how much I was worried it might cost! The repair was quick too, they had my car back to me the same day. And to answer your other question, nope, haven't had a single window problem since getting it fixed. Everything's working smoothly now, all windows go up and down perfectly. I'd say if your mechanic is quoting significantly more than what I paid, it might be worth getting a second opinion. These switch replacements are pretty straightforward jobs. Let me know how you get on with yours!

Thanks a lot for the follow-up! Actually, I took your advice and got it checked at a different mechanic yesterday. You were spot on about getting a second opinion! The new guy ran a proper diagnostic and found it was just the switch unit, exactly like in your case. The best part? Only paid 180€ for the whole thing. What a relief compared to the 500€ the first mechanic quoted me for a regulator replacement! The repair was super quick too, dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after lunch. All windows are working perfectly now. Made me realize how much I'd been stressing over what turned out to be a pretty simple fix. Really grateful for your help, saved me from unnecessary repairs and extra costs. Sometimes it really pays to ask around before jumping into repairs! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Really appreciate it!

Hey there! I had almost the exact same issue with my 2019 BMW 5 Series Hybrid last winter. Initially thought it was the regulator too, but it turned out to be just a faulty master power window switch. In my case, all windows stopped responding, and I got similar error codes. The fix wasn't too complex, the switch unit needed replacement. It's not a serious repair compared to regulator issues. I remember the technician mentioning that these switches commonly fail in BMWs after heavy use. My car had around 145,000 km when it happened. One tip: make sure they test the window motor and wiring before replacing parts. My previous mechanic jumped straight to replacing the regulator without proper diagnosis. For reference, a switch replacement typically takes about an hour or less. Hope this helps with your situation.
