Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's at 94368 KM, and I just had it serviced last month. Actually, your description matches my situation perfectly. I've been keeping an eye on the AdBlue level, but haven't checked the lines or connections. The error message is pretty much identical to what you described. Think I'll get it checked at the workshop, especially since you mentioned it could be a clogged line rather than just an empty tank. Did your workshop have to order any special parts, or was it mainly just cleaning and reconnecting everything?
Hey again! Glad I could help with my previous experience. Yeah, in my case, the workshop had to order a new dosing module because the clog had caused some damage to the internal components. The part took about 2 days to arrive, but the actual repair work only took a few hours. Just want to mention something I forgot earlier, before the complete failure, I noticed a slight hesitation during acceleration. Looking back, that was probably an early warning sign. Since you mentioned your mileage is similar to what mine was when this happened (I was around 98000 KM), it's likely the same issue. One thing I learned from this, it's worth asking the workshop to check the entire AdBlue system during regular service. After they fixed mine, they showed me the old clogged line, and wow, it was completely crystallized inside! Been running smoothly for about 18 months now since the repair. By the way, did you notice any weird smells or excessive exhaust smoke before the problem started? That's another thing I experienced but didn't think much of at the time.
Thanks so much for all this detailed info! Actually, now that you mention it, I did notice some hesitation during acceleration last week, but didn't think much of it at the time. And yes, there was a slightly stronger exhaust smell than usual, but I just assumed it was because of the cold weather. Really helpful to know about the crystallization in the lines, that could definitely explain my issues. I'll call the workshop tomorrow and mention these symptoms, along with what you experienced with your car. Good to know about the potential parts delay too, at least I can plan accordingly. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Think you've saved me from a lot of unnecessary troubleshooting. Will definitely ask them to check the entire AdBlue system during future services too. That's a great maintenance tip!
Hey! I have some experience working on cars and faced a similar issue with my 2018 BMW 3 Series diesel. From what I see, our problems sound very much alike. My car showed the same symptoms, wouldn't start and had error messages. Turned out it wasn't just an empty AdBlue tank, but actually a faulty connection between the tank and the dosing unit. Had it checked at my workshop, and they found that the AdBlue output line was completely clogged. The fix wasn't too complicated, but it did cost me about 250 Euro to get everything sorted. I know BMW also makes the 4 Series with similar systems, and they can have the same issues. Could you share more details about your error message and whether you've noticed any other symptoms? Also, when was the last time you topped up your AdBlue? This info would help me give you more specific advice based on my experience.
