Hi, your story sounds really similar to my experiences with my old Peugeot. That also involved replacing the DPF. I can't remember exactly how much it cost back then. Can you still remember what you had to pay for the repair? And, were there any other problems with the car after that or did it stay with the one problem? I hope you didn't have to go back to the garage. Thanks a lot!

Hello, yes of course, I can still remember. The repair wasn't exactly cheap, I had to spend €1550 to fix the internally defective DPF. But since then I've had no further problems with the car and the "diesel particulate filter low mileage" problem was also solved. After the visit to the workshop, everything ran smoothly again. Of course, it's always a bit of a bummer when things like this happen, but I'm glad that it's now running again.

Thank you both for your feedback! Yes, €1550 is a lot of money, but if it really does work again after that, then I'll have to accept it. I'll probably take the car to the garage tomorrow. Let's hope that there are no more problems after that and that I have peace of mind with the car. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks again for your help!

Hi, I remember a similar problem with my 2018 Peugeot 3008 diesel. It turned out that the DPF was actually internally defective. When driving, I had similar symptoms as you: black smoke, low engine noise and insufficient regeneration of the DPF. The error code also indicated a low remaining mileage, which confirmed my suspicion. In the end, the DPF had to be replaced in the workshop. It was quite serious as the faulty DPF affects engine performance and can even damage the engine itself if not fixed in time. This is not a situation where you should keep driving and hope it will get better on its own. Please get it checked at a garage as soon as possible. Hopefully your garage visit goes more smoothly than mine. All the best!
