Hey, I recently had a similar situation with my 2015 Toyota Corolla. Black smoke, rough running, increased fuel consumption, the whole nine yards. In the end, it turned out that the engine control unit was defective. It was a serious problem, much more complex to solve than a simple ignition coil replacement. We had to completely replace the engine control unit and readjust the system. It was pretty annoying, I can tell you. But since the repair was done, it's running like a dream again. Just my two cents, hopeless that it will help. Just don't hang your head!

No more jerking, no more excessive fuel consumption and definitely no more black smoke. And as if that wasn't enough, the problem with the ignition coil was also fixed.
