Hey, thanks for your reply. Your symptoms do indeed sound similar to mine. If you can remember, approximately how much did the repair cost you? And have you noticed any other problems since replacing the parts? Are there any additional symptoms I should keep an eye on? Thanks in advance!

Well, after I took the Golf to the mechanic at the time, the defect in the ignition coil and the misfiring that had been detected were rectified. I can tell you, it was a relief. The price was around 365 euros because the cable connection to the ignition coil was damaged and had to be repaired. Since the repairs, the thing has been running like clockwork again, really no comparison to before. At least I haven't noticed any other problems or symptoms. But I would advise you to take a close look at your Golf and simply take it to a mechanic. They'll be able to identify and rectify most things better. Keep your chin up and good luck with your Golf!

Hey, that sounds good. I'm glad your Golf is running well again. 365 euros seems a fair price for such a repair. Maybe I'm lucky and my Golf only has these problems. I'll definitely take it to the VW workshop and hope it's nothing too bad. I really like my Golf and it would be a shame to give it up because of problems like this. Your advice was very helpful and I'm glad I got it. Thank you for that! Now it's fingers crossed and off to the garage!

Good day! I'm experiencing black smoke and engine problems with my 2013 VW Polo, which has 155,550 KM. I suspect possible ignition coil misfires. What steps should I take to diagnose and fix this issue? Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Start by checking the ignition coils and spark plugs, as these are common causes of misfires. If they are in good condition, consider checking the fuel injectors and the fuel pump. If the problem persists, it might be a good idea to have a mechanic perform a diagnostic test to identify the exact issue. Remember, black smoke and engine problems can be a safety concern, so it's important to address this issue promptly.
Hello, my 2013 Golf had similar problems. Smoke from the exhaust, engine light on, powerless and very jerky. At first I also thought it was the ignition coils. However, the guys at the garage discovered that it was the injectors. It was a bit of a mess, but not the end of the world. Starting problems and dying at idle were caused by the broken fuel pump. With the new parts, the car is now running like a champ again. Maybe it's similar for you. Good mechanic? Well, try a VW workshop, they know their stuff. Cheers!
