Oh my goodness, you've helped me quite a bit, thank you! It does sound as if that could be my problem. I think I'd better not risk any more delays and head off to the workshop. I do have one more question though: do you happen to remember what you had to pay for the repair? And have you had any more problems with the DPF or anything else since then, or is everything running smoothly with your Mégane? Thank you in advance and have a relaxing day!

Hi, I'm glad I could help! But uff, it did cost a bit... I had to fork out a whopping €1550 for the repair of the diesel particulate filter (it was defective on the inside). No mean feat, but since then the Mégane has been running perfectly. Since the workshop visit, the heavy loading of the diesel particulate filter problem has been resolved and I have had no further problems. So far my Mégane is running great and reminds me more of the new car I bought back then. So, don't waste any time and off to the garage! Keep your fingers crossed that everything runs smoothly and doesn't cost too much. Have a nice day!

Hello and thanks again! 1550 €, wow, that's quite a house number. But the way you describe it, it really seems to have been worth it. You're right, you can't hesitate with things like this and you have to act immediately. I'll probably waste no time and take my car to the garage tomorrow. Me and my Renault Talisman, thank you for your support! With a bit of luck, everything will go as smoothly as it did for you and my car will soon be fit again. Have a nice day and thanks again!

Hello, that really doesn't sound good. I had a similar situation with my 2015 Renault Mégane. My problem was really the diesel particulate filter (DPF). It was internally defective. It's actually a serious problem because the DPF stops the car from running healthily. Black smoke often means that the fuel is not being burned completely, and this is a sign of problems with the DPF. The flickering of the check engine light is also very worrying. 我的声音My visit to the garage confirmed that the DPF needed replacing. They took out the old one and fitted a new one. The flickering of the check engine light stopped immediately and acceleration was back to normal. No more black smoke and the exhaust smell was gone too. So, yes, that could very well be the problem. My advice is to get to your mechanic as soon as possible. It could be something serious that needs fixing urgently. Good luck buddy!
