Hey, thanks for your answer, really helpful. That gives me an idea of what to expect. Can you remember how much it cost you at the garage? And have you had any other DPF problems or similar since the repair? It's interesting to know what might happen after such a replacement. Thank you!

Hey, I'm glad that my answer has helped you. The repair at the garage really wasn't cheap. I had to fork out €1550 to replace the diesel particulate filter. But what the heck, better than a broken engine, right? Since the replacement, everything has been running like clockwork again, no more 'hiccups' when accelerating, no more black smoke from the exhaust. The heavy loading of the diesel particulate filter was rectified and since then I've had no more problems with the DPF. All in all, the repair was worthwhile and I hope that your Citroën will soon be running smoothly again. Good luck!

Hey, oh boy, that's a hefty sum indeed. But you're right, it's better to pay properly this once than to have to deal with engine problems all the time. Nice to hear that everything has been running smoothly for you since then - hopefully I'll be as lucky. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back from the garage. Thanks again for the tips and encouragement! Take care!

Hey, I had similar problems with my 2007 Citroën C5 Diesel. My diesel particulate filter, or DPF for short, also became clogged. It should have regenerated, but it no longer worked properly. No bitumen cleaner helped against the clogging, so I had to go to the workshop. The check engine light was constantly flashing and the car felt really sluggish, it was a real pain. On my last visit to the garage, that's exactly what they fixed - the DPF. They had to replace it completely because it was internally defective. Apparently, too much fine dust collects in it over time, which can then no longer be burned out. So the problem was quite serious, because if the DPF is broken, it can really cause trouble with the engine. So it's not a "small" problem, I'll have you know. But anyway, it was fixed and since then the car has been running like a baby again. Good luck!
