Thank you for your answer and help. My TT now has quite a few kilometers on the clock, namely 189432km. My last service was recently, but these problems were not fixed. If the EGR valve is the problem, the price range mentioned could be pretty close to my guesses. Let's see what the guys at the garage have to say. Thanks again for your help.

No problem, always happy to help! Given the number of kilometers, it may well be that the EGR valve has simply given up the ghost over time. In any case, it has all the symptoms. So yes, you could be exactly right. Next time you go to the garage, tell them to take a closer look at the EGR valve. That could also save you a few unnecessary repair costs. Hopefully they'll be able to solve it quickly and easily. Good luck!

Thank you, your words give me a bit more reassurance and I will definitely discuss having them check the EGR valve. Hopefully the damage isn't too bad and I can get this sorted quickly. I really appreciate your help, really thank you for taking the time to reply to me. Take care and always have a good ride!

Hi, I had a very similar situation with my 2006 Audi A4 diesel. I have a bit of experience with cars but am not a professional. I had to take my car to the garage and they found that the EGR valve was faulty or stuck and had to be replaced. The repair cost me 355 euros. If you could give me the exact details of your car (model, mileage, etc.), I might be able to help you.
