Audi SQ7 Window Switches Dead, Multiple Failures

Thanks for the detailed response. My mileage is currently at 8153 KM with last service done just 2 weeks ago. To answer your questions: the window switch illumination is completely dead on all controls, including the rear passenger window switches. No other electrical issues are present and the dashboard is clear of warning lights. This problem started out of nowhere while driving, not after any maintenance work. Interesting that your case was related to the control module. The zero response from all power window controls does make me think it could be a similar window motor control unit failure rather than individual window motors going bad simultaneously. Looking forward to any additional insight based on these details.

Based on the symptoms you described, particularly the complete lack of switch illumination, this definitely points to the same window control module issue I encountered. The fact that all windows stopped simultaneously without any prior warning strengthens this theory. The missing switch illumination was also the key indicator in my case that the window regulator control module had failed. When the windows stopped working on my Q7, the garage found the module was not receiving proper voltage, despite the rest of the electrical system working fine. A window reset procedure wont help here since the control module isnt responding at all. From my experience with the repair, they will need to: 1. Replace the main window control module 2. Perform proper programming and initialization 3. Run a complete window regulator calibration sequence The repair cost might be slightly lower in your case since no battery-related work is needed. Mine was around 290 Euro, but yours should be closer to 240 Euro for just the module and programming. Since your car is a 2020 model, definitely check if this would be covered under warranty before proceeding with any repairs, unlike my 2018 which was out of coverage when the window motor system failed.

Based on your experience and detailed explanation about the window control module, I'll get it checked out at the shop this week. The symptoms match exactly, especially the part about switch illumination being completely dead while other electrical systems work fine. Really helpful to know the full repair process and approximate costs. Will definitely check the warranty coverage first since my 2020 might still be eligible. Though even at 240 Euro for the module and programming, that beats having to replace multiple window motors if that had been the issue. Just having confirmation that this matches a known window regulator control module failure pattern helps a lot. Better than going in blind and possibly getting unnecessary repairs suggested. Will update once I get it looked at, but sounds like I should expect the module replacement and calibration to resolve it.

I faced a similar window troubleshooting issue with my 2018 Q7 after replacing the battery. As someone with some experience working on Audi electronics, I can share what worked in my case. The window reset procedure didnt work initially, and all power windows were unresponsive, just like your situation. The root cause turned out to be the new battery installation affecting the window control module, which required proper initialization. The repair involved: Professional diagnostic scan, Window regulator module reprogramming, Full window switch calibration, System voltage stabilization check Total cost was 290 Euro including parts and labor. The workshop completed everything in about 2 hours. Before suggesting specific solutions, could you share: Have you noticed any other electrical issues? Does the window switch illuminate when pressed? Did this start immediately after any maintenance work? Are you getting any other warning lights on the dash? This would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced or if its potentially something else affecting the car window system.
