Hey fellow car enthusiasts. My 2016 Audi S6 (gas, 99287 km) has been giving me trouble with its automotive suspension lately. The front seems higher than the rear, making the headlights point at weird angles. Plus, the ride has gotten really bumpy and uncomfortable. The warning light on my dash is constantly on, and I know there are some error codes stored. Based on these symptoms, I suspect the air suspension or height sensor system might be acting up. Has anyone dealt with similar height control issues on their S6? Would love to hear about your experiences and repair costs, as my last mechanic visit was less than stellar.

Had the same suspension issue on my 2019 Audi A6 with the 2.0 TFSI engine. The leveling sensor failure caused similar symptoms, uneven ride height and misaligned headlights. The height adjustment system was completely out of calibration. The root cause turned out to be a faulty control rod connected to the leveling sensor. When the control rod deteriorates, it sends incorrect signals about the vehicle height, causing the air suspension to compensate incorrectly. The warning light appears because the system detects these inconsistent readings. The repair required: Complete diagnostic scan, Removal of front suspension components, Replacement of the leveling sensor control rod, Full system recalibration, Road testing to verify proper height adjustment This was a serious issue requiring immediate attention, as incorrect ride height affects vehicle stability and safety. The misaligned headlights alone create hazardous driving conditions. The suspension repair is not a DIY job, it needs specialized diagnostic equipment and precise calibration. Would recommend finding a shop with experience in Audi air suspension systems.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the A6 leveling system. Your description matches exactly what I am seeing with my S6 now. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was for fixing the automotive suspension? Also curious if you have had any other suspension issues pop up since getting it fixed? The estimate I got seems quite high so trying to get a sense if it is in line with what others paid.

After getting the load sensor issue fixed at the shop last week, my A6 suspension is working perfectly again. The ride height is now consistent, and the Height control restricted warning has completely disappeared. The total repair came to 110 Euro for replacing the defective control rod on the leveling sensor. No other suspension issues have surfaced since the repair. The height adjustment system is working as intended, maintaining proper vehicle balance during different load conditions. My car sits level now, and the headlights are properly aligned. The 110 Euro repair cost was reasonable compared to what it could have been if the entire ride height sensor needed replacement. A proper diagnosis by a qualified technician helped identify the exact component causing the suspension issue, saving unnecessary parts replacement.

Thanks for the feedback. I finally got my S6 fixed last week and wanted to share my experience. The leveling system repair cost me 980 Euro total, which included parts and labor. They found my leveling sensor was completely shot, plus the control module needed reprogramming. The mechanic showed me the corroded parts they removed, apparently water had gotten in and damaged the entire suspension height control unit. They had to order the parts which took 3 days, but the actual repair only took about 4 hours. The ride height is perfect now, headlights are properly aligned, and that annoying warning light is finally gone. The ride feels so much smoother too. Got lucky that no other suspension components were affected. Definitely worth the investment to get it done right. My only regret is not addressing the issue sooner when the warning light first came on. For anyone else seeing similar symptoms, get it checked out early before more damage occurs.
