Thanks for detailing your experience. The solution sounds spot on as it matches what I encountered. My fault was also an electrical malfunction tied to the MMI system in my RS4. Went through nearly identical steps with the system reset and reprogramming. Would you mind sharing what the repair cost in your case? Also curious if youve had any connectivity issues since the fix? The malfunction hasnt returned on my end and the engine light has stayed off, but Id like to know if I should expect any recurring problems. From what I gather, these system updates can sometimes trigger communication module issues that really need professional diagnostic tools to properly address. The transmission and engine performance remain unaffected, but its still an annoying problem that requires attention.

Good to hear your MMI system is working properly again. When I had mine fixed, the repair shop charged 45 Euro for diagnosing and correcting the incorrect device pairing issue. The electrical fault was fully resolved after they cleared the communication module and havent experienced any connectivity problems since then. Like in your case, my engine and transmission remained unaffected throughout the whole process. The function restrictions that initially appeared after the software update were completely eliminated once they recoded the system. These modern vehicles with complex electrical systems sometimes need professional intervention, even for what seems like simple connectivity issues. If the repair shop did a proper reset and recoding of the MMI system, you shouldnt expect the problem to return. The key is ensuring all software components are properly synchronized after any system updates. My car has been running perfectly for months now with no warning lights or connectivity glitches.

Thanks for the input. Wanted to share how this ended for me. Finally took the car back to the shop this morning. The electrical fault was exactly as described, a communication module issue after their system update. The repair took about an hour and cost 65 Euro. They had to completely reset the MMI system and reload the software. All connectivity features are working perfectly now. The stored error code is gone and the engine light remains off as before. The mechanic explained these electrical faults can pop up after updates if the communication systems dont sync properly. Kind of annoying that a routine update caused this, but at least the engine and transmission werent affected. For anyone facing similar issues, its definitely worth getting it checked by professionals with proper diagnostic equipment rather than trying DIY fixes. The specialized tools they used made quick work of what couldve been a frustrating problem to solve on my own. Everything is back to normal now and all systems are communicating properly. Hopefully this helps anyone else who runs into similar connectivity problems after a shop visit.

Last month faced a similar electrical fault on my 2018 Audi S5. The Bluetooth connectivity issues appeared after a routine software update. The problem stemmed from a corrupted module in the MMI system that required a complete reset and recoding. Initially tried the basic fixes: deleting all paired devices, full phone restart, and battery disconnect for 15 minutes. None worked. The error code turned out to be related to the communication control module, not engine-related, which explains why no check engine light appeared. Had to return to the garage. The fix required specialized diagnostic equipment to clear and reprogram the MMI system. While not a serious mechanical issue, these modern connectivity problems need proper diagnostic tools to resolve. The transmission, engine, and all mechanical systems were unaffected. The garage had to: Clear all stored device data, Reset the MMI system to factory settings, Update to the latest software version, Recalibrate the communication module Regular operation resumed after the reset and recoding. This is typically not a DIY fix due to the specialized equipment needed for proper system programming.
