Thanks for sharing your experience with the transmission problems. I had almost identical issues with my Q5 last spring. After complete transmission diagnosis and repair, my car runs perfectly now with no recurring transmission problems. The car computer needed reprogramming and they replaced some electronic components. Would you mind sharing how much the total repair cost you? Also curious if youve experienced any other transmission issues since getting it fixed?

Good to hear your Q5 is running smoothly again. After getting my transmission control module repaired and having the car computer reprogrammed, it has been working flawlessly. The repair shop diagnosed the electronic issues correctly, it was indeed a faulty control unit causing the transmission problems. The total repair cost was 1000 Euro which included replacing the defective automotive ECU components and reprogramming the transmission control module. Since the fix, the automatic gearbox has been shifting perfectly with no grinding or rough changes. The paddle shifters are also working as they should. Have not experienced any transmission problems in the months following the repair. Regular transmission fluid checks show everything is functioning normally. The investment in proper diagnosis and repair by transmission specialists was definitely worth it to prevent more extensive damage to the gearbox.

Thanks for the detailed information about costs. My repair experience was very similar. Found a specialized transmission repair shop through a. The automotive ECU diagnostics showed multiple faults in the transmission control system. Total repair came to 1200 Euro including parts and labor. The gearbox issues were fixed by replacing the faulty control module and doing a complete system reprogramming. The mechanic also found some worn wiring that needed attention. The car computer is working perfectly now after 6 months. No more grinding sounds or rough shifts. The paddle shifters respond instantly. Really glad I got it properly diagnosed instead of trying quick fixes. Definitely worth paying for specialized transmission repair expertise rather than risking further damage.

Had the same transmission diagnosis issues on my 2015 Audi A6 gasoline model. The symptoms matched exactly, rough shifting, grinding noises, and complete paddle shifter failure. After proper electronic issues testing, it turned out the automotive ECU and transmission control module were both affected. The automatic gearbox required a complete transmission diagnosis process. The main problem was a defective control unit causing the transmission to enter limp mode. The repair involved replacing the mechatronic unit and reprogramming the transmission control module. This is a serious issue that can lead to complete transmission failure if left unattended. The repair process took 3 full days as the entire transmission needed to be accessed. For the Q5 model, suggest having the following checked: Transmission fluid level and quality, Mechatronic unit function, Wiring harness connections, Control module programming Recommendation is to have this diagnosed at a shop specializing in automatic transmission repair for VAG vehicles, as general mechanics often lack the specific diagnostic tools needed for complex electronic issues.
