Audi Q2 Power Windows Dead: Multiple System Failure

Had the exact same trouble with my Q2 recently. All power windows failed at once and that frustrating error message kept showing up. The window regulator motor diagnosis was spot on, they had to replace the main switch assembly in the driver door. Like you said, the window mechanism itself was completely fine. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was in your case? Mine set me back 340 Euro including labor. Just curious if prices vary much. Also wondering if youve had any recurring issues with the window control system since the fix?

Had my window control problem fixed last week and can confirm the power windows are working perfectly now. Like in your case, the faulty window regulator turned out to be a switch issue. The total repair came to 200 Euro including parts and labor for replacing the defective window control unit. Sounds like a better deal compared to your 340 Euro repair cost. The window track and mechanism components were all in good condition, just as the mechanic initially suspected. No recurring issues with the window motor or any other power window functions since the repair. The main switch assembly works smoothly now, all windows respond instantly when activated. Regular maintenance and keeping the window tracks clean should prevent future problems.

Thanks for the feedback. Took it to a certified shop last week and got it sorted. The automotive repair specialist diagnosed it right away, faulty main window control unit in the driver door, not the window regulator as I first thought. Total bill came to 340 Euro, bit steeper than your 200 Euro but included a full system diagnostic check. The power windows are working perfectly now. They cleaned and lubricated all window tracks while they had the door panels off too. The mechanic was great, showed me the worn-out switch components and explained everything clearly. Much better experience than my last repair shop. No error messages since the fix and all car windows are running smooth.

I had similar window control issues with my 2014 Audi A3 last summer. The symptoms matched exactly, all power windows stopped responding and the error message appeared on the dashboard. Initially thought it was a window regulator problem, but after inspection it turned out the main power window switch in the driver door panel was defective. The switch module controls all windows, which explains why they all stopped working simultaneously. The automotive repair required removing the door panel and replacing the complete window switch unit. The repair itself was straightforward but required specific diagnostic equipment to reset the system afterward. This was not a major mechanical issue, more of an electrical component failure that commonly occurs in these models. Make sure your repair shop has experience with Audi electrical systems, the window track and regulators were actually fine in my case. Testing revealed it was purely a switch problem. After replacement, all car windows worked perfectly again. Worth noting that if you have a warranty, this type of electrical fault might be covered. Would recommend having the error code read first before assuming its the regulators.
