Audi Q2 air conditioning no longer works, air conditioning control unit defective?

Blower does not work properly

Hello everyone, my Audi Q2 (model year 2018, diesel) has problems with the fan. It doesn't work properly and I suspect that the air conditioning control unit could be defective. Has anyone had similar experiences and can give tips on what helped during workshop maintenance? Thank you!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Audi Q3 (built in 2016, gasoline engine). I have some experience with cars. In my case, the air conditioning control unit was defective. I then went to the garage and it cost me a total of 940.0 euros to get it fixed. I can give you more details if you like. What exactly are the symptoms of your car? Maybe then I can help you better.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! On my Audi Q2 (approx. 189,654 km), the fan sometimes doesn't react at all and sometimes only at the highest setting. The air conditioning also no longer cools properly. Your tip about the air conditioning control unit sounds plausible - perhaps I should have that checked too. Did you have any other symptoms or solutions?

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! Your tip about the air conditioning control unit sounds really useful. I had similar problems with the fan in my Audi Q2 (approx. 130,000 km), and it often only switched on sporadically or only worked at the highest level. Cooling the air conditioning was also no longer reliable. In addition to the defective air conditioning control unit, it turned out that the blower motor itself had a loose connection. The workshop then checked both the air conditioning control unit and the blower motor. In the end, the air conditioning control unit actually had to be replaced, which solved the problem completely. I would recommend that you also have the blower motor checked if replacing the control unit alone does not solve the problem. Sometimes there are several causes, especially in older cars. Good luck with the repair, and let us know how it turns out!

Hi, thanks for the tip! That really does sound like a similar problem to mine. I'll probably have both the air conditioning control unit and the blower motor checked. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I'll let you know as soon as I know more! Best regards!
