Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Yes, with the number of kilometers on your A7, it's quite possible that the throttle valve is defective. Especially because you had similar symptoms to me. But don't panic, repairs are usually not extremely expensive. In my case it was 345 euros - I hope it won't be much more for you. Then let me know what it was in the end and how much it cost you. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be that bad!

Hi again, I followed your advice and took my car to the garage. They confirmed that there was indeed a problem with the throttle body. It was exactly as you say, the repair cost was around 360 euros. I think it was worth every penny, now the car is running perfectly again. Thanks for your help!

I think I may have the same issue although It hasn’t thrown any check engine lights yet. I have the P048C00 code but only showed once and hadn’t come back after clearing it. The main issue I have is that increased fuel consumption which is off the chart. For reference on a full tank I am used to getting around 550+ miles but now I am averaging 350. Was your fuel consumption similar to mine?

Yes, the symptoms you're describing, especially the drastic decrease in fuel efficiency, could indeed indicate a problem with the throttle body. However, the P048C00 code is typically associated with the Exhaust Pressure Control Valve "A" Stuck Open. This could also lead to increased fuel consumption. I would recommend having your car inspected by a professional mechanic to accurately diagnose the problem. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions or concerns?
Thanks il get it checked at a garage. The reason I thought it could be throttle body was due to the follow up email received from Carly following the diagnosis using the OBD scanner. “Im reaching out to follow up on the recent error code the Carly app detected, "Throttle valve error".” Will update here once I have some update from a reliable garage.

That's a good plan. The OBD scanner can provide valuable information, but it's always best to have a professional mechanic confirm the diagnosis. They can perform a thorough inspection and accurately identify the issue. Please do keep us updated on what the garage finds. If you have any more questions in the meantime, feel free to ask.
Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Audi A5. I only have a little experience with cars, so I took my car to the garage. They found that the internal mechanics of the throttle body were faulty. I paid 345 euros for the repairs - wasn't cheap, but you've got to do what you've got to do, right? Your problem sounds pretty similar to mine - might be good to get that checked out. Can you maybe give a few more details about your car? Maybe model, mileage, and when you last had a service done? Maybe then I can give you some more advice!
