Hey, thanks for the tip about the engine control unit. I'm glad that everything is running again. Can you still remember what you left at the mechanic? And have you encountered any other problems since then or has your car been running like clockwork again since the repair? It would be cool if you could tell us a bit more about your experiences.

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Well, I left around 1000 euros in the workshop for the engine control unit. You just have to fork out a tidy sum. But since then everything has been great again and runs like clockwork. After that was fixed, there were no more problems with the lambda sensor heating, they did that at the same time. So the car is now pulling properly again and fuel consumption is also back to normal. Since then, the car has been running like it did on the first day, so no more worries. So I can only recommend having this done and then you'll have peace of mind!

Hey, recently had a similar problem with my Audi A7, 2015. It turned out that the engine control unit was defective. This garage did a good job. There were a number of symptoms just like you describe: black smoke, jerking, high fuel consumption. They checked the ECU and fixed the faults. Seems to be a common problem with the Audi models, didn't get them anywhere. So I would say check it out. Have them look at your engine control unit in the workshop, maybe that's the problem.
