Thanks for sharing your experience with the door control module repair. I had nearly identical issues with my 2020 A6 last winter, the car alarm kept going off out of nowhere and the keyless entry system failed completely. The security system showed multiple error codes. My repair included similar steps, though fortunately the wiring only needed cleaning and resealing rather than full replacement. The car locks have worked perfectly since the fix. Can you recall roughly what you paid for the repair since it wasnt under warranty anymore? Also curious if youve had any other electrical gremlins pop up since getting it fixed?

Good news, got my car back from the mechanic today after dealing with that frustrating central locking problem. The total repair came to 95 Euro, which was just for fixing a faulty cable connection in the locking mechanism. Much better outcome than my initial repair which needed the full door control module replacement that I mentioned before. The security system is now responding perfectly to the remote locking commands and no error codes have appeared since. No other electrical issues have surfaced in the 8 months since that first major repair. The door locks work reliably in all weather conditions now. Seems the water sealing improvements they made during the initial fix really helped prevent any recurring problems with the central locking system. Glad to hear your repair was simpler and just needed cleaning rather than component replacement. These electronic door locking systems can be tricky to diagnose, but once properly fixed they tend to stay reliable.

The mechanic visit went much better than expected. After checking the fuse box and running diagnostics, they found a simple wiring fault in the central locking system. The repair only took 2 hours and cost 350 Euro, which included a full system check and recalibration of the keyless entry components. The key fob now works perfectly, no more unusual alarms or car locks failing. The mechanic also showed me the corroded wire that was causing all the trouble. Makes sense why the previous garage couldnt pinpoint the issue since the damage was hidden behind the door panel. Definitely worth finding a specialist who knows these electronic systems well. Will keep monitoring for any other electrical issues, but so far the central locking has worked flawlessly for the past 3 weeks. Thanks again for sharing your experience, helped me push for a more thorough inspection this time around.

Had the same central locking failure on my 2017 Audi A4 3.0 TDI. The keyless entry system completely stopped responding, similar to your symptoms. The root cause was corroded wiring connections at the door control module. Water had seeped through a damaged door seal, affecting the locking mechanism wiring harness. The mechanic found multiple error codes stored in the central locking control unit. The repair required: Complete removal of door panels, Replacement of damaged wire connectors, New door control module, System recalibration using diagnostic tools, Replacement of compromised door seals This was a major repair job taking nearly 6 hours. The central locking system has worked flawlessly since fixing these components. Would recommend having a certified technician check the door control modules and wiring connections first, as these are common failure points in Audi remote locking systems. Worth noting the repair was covered under extended warranty due to a known issue with water ingress in this model series.
