Hi, my Audi is an A4, from 2014, diesel. Oh yes, the mileage is currently at 121254, sorry I forgot to mention that. I haven't read any codes, haven't even been to the garage yet. Your story doesn't sound good though. Over 1600 euros is a pretty expensive repair! I hope I don't have the same problem... Would you recommend that I take the car straight to the garage or is there perhaps something I could check myself first? Thanks for your support!

Hey, no problem, it happens to all of us sometimes that we forget to mention something. So, I would definitely recommend that you take your Audi to the workshop as soon as possible, especially since the check engine light is on and there are obviously problems with the engine. Before that, you could perhaps try to read out the error code yourself if you have a suitable device. But even then, I would strongly advise you to take the car to an expert. Unfortunately, turbocharger problems are not so easy to fix yourself and can also lead to further damage if they are not dealt with correctly and promptly. I know that a repair like this is expensive, but maybe you're lucky and it's something else. Only a garage can tell for sure. Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious!

Thank you for your quick reply and the detailed advice. Unfortunately, I don't have a device to read out the error code myself, so I will have to take the Audi to the workshop quickly, for better or worse. I also hope that it's just a minor issue and not the turbocharger. Unfortunately, your experience is a bit daunting, but I'm glad you shared it with me. It gives me a rough idea of what I might be facing and I can prepare myself. On the off chance it will probably come down to the garage - thanks again for your help!

Hello With my 1.4 liter diesel with Euro 3 I have the problem that it repeatedly displays the error "boost pressure too high", when I fill up with a diesel additive it is better for a while. It has full power, except when it goes into emergency running again. EGR valve is with throttle valve, which I have replaced. I think the whole ducts are totally sooted up. Should I clean the intake manifold or is something else more likely? The fault mainly occurs in 4th and 5th gear, when it really has full boost pressure. Now with the colder temperatures it happens much more often. Better combustion because of the CO2 density, right?

Hello

Based on your description, it does sound like the intake manifold could be sooted up, which can cause the boost pressure to be too high. Cleaning the intake manifold could potentially solve the issue. However, it's also possible that the turbocharger wastegate or the boost pressure sensor could be faulty. I would recommend starting with cleaning the intake manifold, and if the problem persists, then consider checking the wastegate and the sensor. Please remember to update us on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

My a58t turbocharger boost pressure is low what should I do Turbocharger works but error is displayed
A low boost pressure could be due to a variety of issues such as a leak in the intake system, a faulty wastegate, a clogged or damaged intercooler, or even a malfunctioning turbocharger despite it seeming to work. Start by checking for any visible leaks in the intake system, including the hoses and connections. If you don't find any leaks, you may need to inspect the wastegate and intercooler. If the problem persists, it would be best to have a professional mechanic inspect the turbocharger. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?
Hi, I'm not a car expert, but I have a bit of experience with this. I had a similar problem with my 2012 Audi A6 diesel and it turned out to be mechanical damage to the turbocharger. It cost me 1670 euros at the garage and they had to replace the turbocharger. Did you read any codes or anything? The more details you can give, the better we can help. Write the exact model name and engine here. Maybe then I can help you even better!
