Audi A4 Cabrio problems with the DPF

Hey guys, I have a weird problem with my 2015 Audi A4 diesel. It smokes pretty black from the exhaust when accelerating, shows the check engine light and the power is down too. DPF regeneration doesn't seem to be working and the exhaust smells extremely bad. I think the diesel particulate filter could be heavily loaded. Have you had similar experiences? How did the workshops help you to fix the problem? I'm really looking forward to your feedback and experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I actually had a similar problem with my 2013 Audi A6 diesel. I only have some experience with cars. At my garage, they read out the error code and it turned out that the diesel particulate filter was defective due to high mileage. The repair costs amounted to 1550 euros and since then the car has been running great again. Could you perhaps provide some more information about your car? Mileage, repair history, something like that? That would help to better understand the problem and possibly give further advice.

Hi buddy, thanks for your reply. Well, my car has now covered a whopping 234567 km, and the last service was just under a year ago. Apart from the usual oil change and brake check, there was nothing major. Maybe it really is the DPF...I can't even imagine the cost. I'm already a bit worried. Have a nice day and thanks again!

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! With the mileage, it could well be the DPF. In my case, the replacement actually did the trick, even if it was a bit expensive. But since then my Audi has been running again without any problems. I think it's best to have it checked by a specialist garage before it gets any worse. In the end, you'll probably save money if you tackle it now. So don't worry, it'll be fine! Good luck and keep us up to date!

Well, there's probably no getting around it. You're right, I'd better have the car checked next week. Better safe than sorry and I don't want the Audi to give up the ghost completely. With all the smoke, that's already becoming apparent...I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again and have a nice day!
