Hey, don't worry! After the visit to the mechanic, the problem with the malfunction of the torque converter lock-up clutch was finally solved. And since then my A6 has been running like a kitten again, no more flying out of gear or strange noises. As for the cost, I was lucky that it only cost me €365. They replaced my gearbox oil because it was worn and dirty. Hope this helps you and doesn't make you sweat any more. Good luck with your Audi!

Hey, thanks for the info! It's reassuring to hear that everything went well for you afterwards. I hope that €365 will also be enough for my repairs and that I won't have to invest any more. I'll definitely have the gearbox oil checked, maybe that's the problem for me too. It's really great the tips you get here. Thanks again and have a good trip with your Audi!

Hey, I had similar problems with my 2007 Audi A6. Interestingly enough, the symptoms were exactly the same - gear slipping and strange noises. The mechanic at the garage eventually determined that the problem was with the clutch, but not the torque converter lock-up clutch. It was the whole clutch unit that needed replacing, a pretty serious problem. It was quite a job to take everything apart and replace it, but since then the car has been running smoothly again. I would recommend you maybe get that checked as well. Just a suggestion, hope this helps!
