Audi A3 Sedan cruise control no longer works

Cruise control without function

Fault stored

Hey guys, do any of you recognize something strange with my 2015 Audi A3? The cruise control is acting up and is suddenly not working. I also have a stored error. I'm wondering if there might be a problem with "cruise control not working". Has anyone from the community ever had a similar problem and could give me some tips, especially on how a garage fixed it? Any experience or advice is very welcome! Thanks in advance.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Audi A1, so very similar to your A3. I would describe myself as someone with some car experience. I took it to the garage and the problem was a faulty ECU. The repair cost me 1000 euros, it was quite expensive but necessary. Could you please give more details about your car, model, year, etc.? Maybe then I can help you better. Hope this helps you!

Thanks for your helpful advice! I'm currently driving my A3 with quite a lot of kilometers, I'm at over 210123 km. Last service was just recently. Would it help if I shared some more information? I'm not sure whether it could be the control unit in my case, but the price shocks me a bit... I'll see if I can find out more before I go to the garage.

Yes, something can break at such high mileage, which is unfortunately not unusual for us car owners. If it really is the control unit, then unfortunately it's not cheap fun... But hey, it could also be something else. Have you read out the fault memory or had it read out? That could help narrow down the problem. And have you checked the fuses? Sometimes it's just a small thing. Nevertheless, it's best to get a second opinion before you dig deep into your pockets. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll solve the problem somehow. Keep your fingers crossed!

Thank you very much for the answer! That reassures me a little that it could be something smaller. I haven't read the fault memory myself, but I think I could give that a try. Checking the fuses also sounds like a good first step. I agree, it's always good to have a second opinion before I spend so much money. Maybe it could be something else. Thanks for helping me out like that. I'll see what the best way to go about it is.
