Audi A3 Diesel 2015 - Problems with parking distance control and electrics

General electric malfunction

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

Park distance control without function

Hello everyone, I have a strange problem with my Audi A3 Diesel, year of manufacture 2015. The parking distance control no longer works, I have general electrical problems, errors are stored and the warning light in the speedometer is on. My guess is that the radar sensor is faulty. Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me any tips? I would be particularly interested in how you solved this in the workshop. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I drive an Audi A4 Diesel, year 2017, just a different model but with similar features. I already have a bit of experience with car repairs, but I'm not a professional. Similar problems have happened to me. The solution was to remove the sources of interference that could affect the systems. That cost me 30 euros. It's worth calling in a professional as the cause of the problem can be many and varied. Can you tell me a bit more about the symptoms? Maybe then I can help you better.

Hey, thanks for the answer! Well, the car now has 86561 km on the clock, it was last in the workshop about 4000 km ago for a normal service. The problem is mainly the sudden warning lights and the sporadic error messages. Sometimes the parking distance control works, sometimes it doesn't - it's super inconsistent. Maybe someone here has some more thoughts?

Hey, I've had similar experiences with my Audi A4. Technical problems can sometimes occur, especially with such a high mileage. The parking distance control sounds like a typical sensor problem. Perhaps the sensor has a loose contact or has become damp. I would suggest checking the sensor or having it checked in the workshop, maybe it's just a minor fault. The warning lights and error messages could be caused by a problem with the electrical system. Have you had the fault memory read out? This has usually helped me in the past to identify the exact problem. It could also be that the battery is simply weak, which can also lead to such sporadic errors. So maybe check the battery or have it checked. I hope this helps you!

Hi, thanks for your help! I will try out your suggestions and have the sensor and battery checked. Reading the fault memory should also help. I have an appointment at the garage next week, so I'll know more then. Have a nice day and thanks again!
