Last service was at 24921 KM. Just wanted to mention the shop also found worn shock absorber bushings causing additional suspension play. Car handling really suffered from this combination of issues. They quoted 485 Euro for complete front shock replacement including labor. Does that sound reasonable before I approve the work? The noises are definitely worst on the front passenger side when hitting bumps.

Thanks for those extra details. Yes, based on my experience with the same car damping issues, 485 Euro is actually quite reasonable for front shock replacement plus labor. When my A3 had the wiring fixed, they also noticed worn bushings during inspection, and I ended up needing new front shocks about 6 months later. The front passenger side noise you mention is a classic symptom of worn shock absorbers. The vehicle suspension can start making these sounds when the internal damping components begin to fail. The quote covers: New front shock absorbers, Installation labor, Required bushings and mounting hardware, Basic suspension alignment check For reference, my total repair came to 520 Euro when I had similar work done. The improved car handling and ride comfort was immediately noticeable. The bumpy ride completely disappeared and the warning lights cleared once the new parts were properly connected to the damping control system. Just make sure they perform a proper suspension system calibration after installing the new parts. This helps ensure optimal damping control and prevents future warning lights.

Thanks for sharing those repair cost details. After reading through the forum responses, I feel more confident about proceeding with the suspension failure repair. The 485 Euro quote seems fair given the extent of work needed. Its good to know others have dealt with similar damping control problems and seen positive results after replacement. The symptoms match exactly, bumpy ride, noises over bumps, and warning lights all pointing to worn shock absorbers and suspension system issues. Will schedule the repair next week and make sure they include the calibration step mentioned for proper damping control. Once the work is done, Ill post an update about how the car handling improved and if it fully resolved the suspension tuning problems. Really appreciate all the detailed feedback that helped confirm this is a common issue with a straightforward fix.

As someone with some experience working on Audis, I had a similar suspension issue with my 2004 Audi A3 1.4 TSI. The car handling symptoms you describe match exactly what I experienced, uncomfortable ride and warning lights related to the suspension system. After taking it to the workshop, they diagnosed a faulty wiring connection to the damping control module. The vehicle suspension was actually fine mechanically, but the system wasnt getting proper signals. The repair cost was 95 Euro for diagnosing and fixing the cable connection issue. The suspension tuning returned to normal immediately after the repair. No replacement parts were needed besides securing the loose connection, which was causing erratic suspension system behavior. Before suggesting more specific solutions, could you share: Have you had any recent suspension work done? Are there any unusual noises when going over bumps? Did the issue start suddenly or develop gradually? Have you already had the error codes read? If yes, which ones? This information would help determine if your issue is similar to what I experienced or if its something different in your suspension system.
