Audi A1 airbag lights up in the speedometer and the ABS symbol also lights up in the speedometer

ABS/DSC system is not working

Power steering without function

Vibrating/shaking steering wheel

Hello everyone, my Audi A1 Diesel, built in 2013, is causing problems. ABS/DSC fails, the power steering doesn't work and the steering wheel vibrates. I think the steering angle sensor might be broken. Does anyone have similar experiences and troubleshooting tips? How was the problem fixed at the garage? Thank you!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Audi A3. I have some experience with cars, but still wouldn't call myself an expert (so rather low experience). In my case, the steering angle sensor was also the problem. My garage then discovered that the coding of the steering angle sensor was faulty. The repair cost me 195.0 euros. After they recoded the sensor, the problem was solved. Which workshop did you go to? Maybe we can exchange ideas. Good luck and let me know if it works! Lg

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I just checked the mileage, my Audi currently has 186543 km on it. Your solution with the coding sounds plausible. I'll discuss it with my garage straight away. I've been to a smaller independent garage nearby so far and have always been happy with them. I'll keep you up to date and hope that the problem can be solved so easily! Lg

Hey, no problem, I hope it helps you! With the mileage, it may well be that the steering angle sensor gives up the ghost. Independent workshops are often a bit cheaper and just as capable of solving such problems. Good idea to address the issue with the coding directly. Maybe they can fix the problem with a few simple steps and a new calibration of the sensor. One more thing: I also had a vibration problem in the steering wheel of my Audi A3, and in addition to coding the steering angle sensor, the workshop also checked the axle settings. It was a small job and helped to solve the problem. I hope your garage does just as well! Let us know how it goes! Lg

Hey, thanks for the tip about the axle settings, I'll address that too. Sometimes there really are several smaller causes that add up to a bigger problem. I've already made an appointment for next week and hope that the garage can fix it just as well as you did. I'll definitely keep you posted on how it goes and whether the solution was successful. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Lg
