Thanks for the quick response! You're right, I tried changing the battery in the key first. Unfortunately that didn't help. I hadn't thought about the synchronization, but it's worth a try. I recently serviced mine at 87906 kilometers, thought it might have something to do with that, but haven't noticed anything unusual so far. Well, if nothing helps I'll probably have to take it to the garage. 295 euros, uff... well, what can you do. Thanks for the tip anyway! Have a nice day!

It's a shame to hear that the battery change in the key didn't help. So it remains exciting. Regarding synchronization: normally this should happen when the key is inserted into the ignition lock, provided the car and key are both still OK. But sometimes a manual reset is necessary... Have you already done something about this? About the service note and the connection - it doesn't necessarily sound to me that it could be related to this, but who knows. Does the warning light come on permanently or only sporadically? As for the cost, I know... It's quite a chunk. Technology that excites and sometimes annoys. I hope that there might be a simple (and cheaper) solution after all. Just don't give up! Best regards!

Hi, thanks for the support! I will definitely try the manual synchronization. Regarding the warning light, it lights up sporadically, not all the time. You're right, it remains exciting. I'm hoping for a simple solution. It would be very annoying if the repair was more expensive than expected. Have a nice evening and thanks again! See you soon!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2013 VW Touareg Diesel and it seems that we have the same problem. In my case, it was the electronics in the key that was defective and I had to have it repaired in a workshop. The cost was around 295 euros. My experience with cars is relatively limited, but I have a bit of an idea. To be able to help you better, it would be helpful to know if you have already tried changing the battery in your key or resynchronizing the key. Or are there any other symptoms? Good luck, hopefully it's nothing too serious!
