All Power Windows Dead: Multiple Regulator Errors Found

Need help with power windows not working, any similar issues? Just came back from a mechanic visit that left me skeptical. Car shows window regulator errors and none of the power windows respond when using the window switch. Running a 2001 Chrysler Stratus with gas engine, fairly low mileage at 87610 km. Had anyone experienced something similar and can share what the actual issue was? Want to make sure I get a proper diagnosis before attempting another repair.

Had the same issue with my 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The window troubleshooting process revealed multiple problems when none of the power windows would respond. Initially thought it was just the window switch on the door panel, but diagnostic testing showed it was actually related to the main power supply. The most common cause for all windows failing simultaneously is usually the master fuse or the main power window relay. In my case, after checking the fuse box, the technician discovered the issue was tied to a faulty body control module that manages all car window operations. This was a serious electrical system concern that required proper diagnosis with specialized equipment. Unusual parts replacement without proper testing would have been costly and ineffective. For these symptoms, especially with all windows affected, its important to get a complete circuit diagnosis before replacing any components. The key indicators that helped identify the issue: All windows stopped working at once, No response from any window switch, No motor sound when attempting operation, All other electrical components working normally Best approach is getting a full electrical diagnostic test before replacing any parts, as window system failures often stem from central electrical issues rather than individual window components.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the window control issues. Good to know about the body control module being the culprit. Since I am facing very similar symptoms with my Stratus power windows, this is really helpful information. Would you mind sharing what the repair ended up costing you? Also curious if youve had any recurring window troubleshooting issues since getting it fixed? Want to budget properly for the repair and make sure its a long term solution for the car window system.

Thanks for asking about the follow-up. After my last visit, the window regulator initialization issue was completely resolved. The mechanic discovered the vehicle battery was severely degraded, causing inconsistent power supply to the window controls and other electrical components. The total repair cost came to 290€ for the battery replacement, including labor and system reset. Since the fix, all power windows have been working flawlessly with no window motor issues or error messages. The car electronics are now functioning as they should. For peace of mind, the technician ran a full diagnostic check on the window controls after installing the new battery to ensure everything was properly calibrated. Its been 8 months now without any recurring issues with the window system. This repair proved much simpler and more cost-effective than initially expected, especially compared to replacing the body control module. A properly functioning battery made all the difference in restoring normal window operation.

After considering the advice here, I took my Stratus to a different mechanic for a second opinion. The window troubleshooting revealed it was indeed a power supply issue, just like mentioned. My car window problems stemmed from a failing battery and corroded connections at the main power distribution center. The repair was straightforward, got a new battery installed for 260€ and had the connections cleaned. The window regulator and all four power windows started working perfectly after that. The door panel didnt even need to be removed, which saved on labor costs. Really glad I asked here before spending money on unnecessary window motor replacements. Its been 3 months since the fix, and every window switch works like new. Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one.
