Crash sensor connections, eh? Where exactly are those located? Is it something I could check myself, or am I better off leaving it to the pros?

Yes, it was indeed a loose connection. While you could try to locate and check the connections yourself, given the car safety implications I would strongly advise having a workshop take a look. Airbag repair is not something to take lightly. Vehicle safety is paramount.

Just wanted to let you know that the airbag warning light issue is now resolved. Turns out it was a defective connection as suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks for the heads up!

I had a similar airbag warning light issue appear in my Countryman. Have you checked the crash sensor connections? Sometimes those can become loose or corroded.
