Air Suspension Problem on Mini Cooper

I am experiencing issues with the air suspension on my 2013 Mini Cooper. The car is sitting low and will not raise. Furthermore it leans significantly. I see the warning light on the dashboard, and get the speedometer warning. Checking the headlight range control, I notice that the low beam is clearly misaligned. I suspect that the suspension pump is faulty. Could this be related to a defective cable or plug connection?

Interesting, I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper. The symptoms sound familiar. Mine was leaning to one side, and I was getting a suspension malfunction warning. Have you checked for any obvious air leaks around the suspension components? Also, does your's have load leveling? It could be a component related to that system. Did you check error codes?

Yes, I checked the error memory and there was indeed a code related to the suspension pump. You mentioned load leveling. Is that a separate component or integrated into the air suspension system? And where exactly should I be looking for these air leaks?

Load leveling, if equipped, is usually integrated with the air suspension. As for the air leaks, listen carefully around the struts and air lines with the engine running. A hissing sound is a dead giveaway. Given your symptoms and the error code, it does sound like a pump or wiring issue, similar to mine. Though I traced mine back to the pump, with the error code, it could be the connector. Honestly, I ended up taking mine to a workshop. Diagnostics is key.

Thank you for your input. I took it to a local workshop, and it turned out to be a defective cable connection to the suspension pump, just as you suspected. They replaced the connector for 95€, and the issue seems to be resolved. Much appreciated!
