Air conditioning control unit defect on Citroën C1 (2021) - experience reports and mechanic recommendations wanted

Hello folks! I have a question about my 2021 Citroën C1 with gasoline engine and 188742 KM on the clock. My ventilation system is acting up and my guess is that the air conditioning control unit is defective. Has anyone experienced similar problems and - most importantly - had a good experience with their mechanic? Especially after my last visit to the mechanic, I've become a bit cautious... Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a 2018 Citroën C3 myself and had similar problems with the climate control unit. The symptoms were really annoying, I could hardly regulate my airstream. In the end, the mechanic at my garage replaced the entire air conditioning control unit. It was quite a job, but after that the problem was over and I haven't had any more problems with the ventilation since. So I would definitely say check it out at a trustworthy garage. Good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for your reply! It's good to know that someone has successfully solved the same problem. Do you happen to remember how much it cost you? And has anything else related to the ventilation or air conditioning caused problems since then?

Hello, no problem, always happy to help! Replacing the air conditioning control unit cost me €940. It was a lot of money, but since then the ventilation has worked perfectly again. Since my visit to the mechanic, I haven't had any more problems with it. As I said, a reliable mechanic is worth his weight in gold, and I'm happy to pay a bit more. I hope you get off as well! Have a nice day!

Hey, that's good news! Although 940€ is pretty expensive, it sounds like a fair deal if I don't have any problems afterwards. I will definitely go in search of a reliable mechanic. Thanks again for your help and advice! Have a good day too!
