Air conditioning and heating in the Mercedes A-Class not working properly: Possible sensor fault

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Mercedes A-Class (petrol engine, built in 2011 and 80004 kilometers on the clock). The air conditioning is only spitting out warm air and the heating/cooling is not working properly. I have a hunch that it might be the air quality sensor ("Faulty air quality sensor signal"). Has anyone ever had a similar problem? And what are your experiences with the workshop, especially after negative experiences? I would appreciate any tips! Thank you and best regards!

Hello, I had a similar experience with my Mercedes C-Class (petrol engine, model year 2014). In my case, the fault was a defective line/cable from the sensor. The symptoms were similar to yours, the heating/cooling didn't work properly. At the workshop, they had to replace the defective cable and recalibrate the sensor. It wasn't a big drama, but it's annoying when things like this happen. My overall experience with the garage was positive. They fixed the problem quickly and the car has been running smoothly ever since. I hope this helps you! Best regards.

Hey, your answer is really helpful! Can you still remember what you paid at the garage back then? And has anything similar happened to you since then or is everything running smoothly now? Thank you very much and best regards!

Hey, I'm glad I could help! I paid 95 euros back then to repair the defective cable from the sensor. But I haven't had any more problems with it since then. The faulty air quality sensor signal was then rectified and has been running like clockwork ever since. It's really annoying when something like this happens, but now I know that it's nothing dramatic and the guys at the workshop will get it sorted quickly. I hope it goes just as smoothly for you! Best regards!

Hello, wow, 95 euros sounds really fair. In my head I was already expecting a much higher sum. Your experience really relieves me! I'll have it checked at the workshop on Monday. Hopefully everything will go as smoothly as it did for you. Thanks again for your help and kind words, that really helped me! Have a nice weekend and best wishes!

Hi guys, I have a problem with a Mercedes w211 220d 2002, with SBC pump do you know how I can solve or repair this problem ?

The SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) pump is a critical component of your vehicle's braking system. If it's malfunctioning, it could pose a serious safety risk. I would strongly recommend having it inspected by a professional mechanic. If the SBC pump is indeed faulty, it will likely need to be replaced. After the repair, please update us on the progress. Do you have any other questions?
