Air conditioning and heating in Citroen DS3 not working properly: Please share experiences and workshop recommendations

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hi guys, I need your advice: My 2012 Citroen DS3 with a gasoline engine and a mileage of around 55859 km is currently causing me problems. The air conditioning only blows warm air and generally the cooling and heating are no longer really good. I suspect it could be the solar sensor inside the vehicle. Have any of you had similar problems and how did it go with your mechanic? I had a not-so-great experience at my last visit to the garage, so if you have any good garage tips, please let me know. MfG

Hello, Well, I also had a problem with the wiring harness in my 2009 Citroen C5. My ventilation, both cooling and heating, was also spinning. The mechanic eventually determined that it was actually the wiring harness that was faulty. They had to replace some circuits as they were somehow wired incorrectly. It was a bit complicated, but fortunately nothing extremely serious. In terms of garage tips, I would always advise you to allow enough time for a thorough diagnosis. Even if it takes more time, it's definitely worth it. Hope this helps you! Best regards.

Hey, thanks for your reply! So in your case it was the wiring harness - interesting! How much did the repair cost you in the end, if you don't mind me asking? And has everything been fine since then or were there any other surprises? Ciao!

Hey, after visiting the mechanic, it turned out that the malfunction of the solar sensor inside the vehicle was the problem that needed to be fixed. The cost of repairing the faulty wiring harness was €155. Since then everything has been running smoothly again, no further surprises. Best regards!

Moin, Okay, that actually sounds quite manageable with the costs. Good point about taking enough time for a thorough diagnosis. I'm going to do the same and see what my own garage has to say. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Thanks again for your advice! Bye!
