ABS/DSC error in Skoda Roomster 2009: Advice and experience wanted

ABS/DSC system is not working

Hi everyone, I need your opinion. I have a Skoda Roomster, built in 2009, diesel, with 132321 km on the clock. My ABS/DSC is just giving up the ghost and I suspect that it could be due to the transmission fluid leaking. I had a bad experience last time at the mechanic, so I wanted to ask here. Have any of you ever had a similar problem? How did it go with your mechanic? Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Skoda Octavia. Sounds to me like a problem with the ABS sensor or the wheel sensor. Last time I was in the garage, they checked and cleaned these sensors. In my case, it was not the transmission fluid, but dirt and small stones that had clogged these sensors and thus paralyzed the ABS/DSC system. Make sure that this is worth checking in your case too. It was definitely a serious problem, so it's best to have it checked as soon as possible. Good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for the tip! Didn't think it could be the sensors. Do you remember what the check and repair cost you? And have there been any problems with the ABS/DSC since then? Don't fancy it happening again in a couple of months...

Hey, no problem! In my case, it was €1590 to repair the component defect in the gearbox. Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running smoothly again and the transmission fluid wear was also rectified. So far there have been no further problems with the ABS/DSC. So you should definitely be prepared for it to be a bit more expensive, but once the mishap has been fixed, everything should be fine again. Stay on the ball!

That sounds pretty expensive at first... But good to hear that there was no further trouble afterwards. Thanks for your advice! I'll take it up with the mechanic and hope it doesn't cost that much. Keep your fingers crossed for me, guys! I'll keep you up to date. See you then!
