ABS/DSC and brake light on the Skoda Superb 2018: Possible causes and solutions

Brake light not working

ABS warning light

ABS/DSC system is not working

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hello friends, have any of you ever had problems with your 2018 Skoda Superb petrol car that were similar to mine? ABS/DSC no longer works on my car, plus the ABS warning light and the warning light in the speedometer are illuminated. In addition, the brake lights no longer work either. I suspect that the brake pedal position sensor could be broken. Do you have any experience of what could be the cause? How did you have this fixed in the workshop on your Skoda and what were your experiences? I would appreciate any tips. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I have some experience with cars and had a similar problem with my 2016 Skoda Octavia petrol car. My car also had a faulty brake pedal position sensor. I took it to a garage and they replaced the sensor. It cost me around 130 euros. But before I can tell you more, I would need more information about your car. Which model do you have exactly and what did the people at the garage say about it? Best regards!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! My car is a Skoda Superb, model year 2018, with a gasoline engine, it has just 70,330 km on the odometer. I didn't get any special notes or warnings in my last inspection. I will take your advice and take my car to the garage to have the brake pedal position sensor checked. Hopefully the cost will be in a similar range to yours. Thanks again and have a good day!

Moin, no problem, that's what we're here for. Your description sounds very much like a defective brake pedal position sensor. As your Skoda Superb is newer and has fewer kilometers on the clock than my Skoda Octavia at the time, the repair could even be cheaper. The most important thing is that you drive to the garage as soon as possible. A malfunctioning brake system can be very dangerous. On my car, it took a total of about 2 days for everything to be repaired. I would therefore recommend that you make an appointment early on. You should then be able to drive your Skoda again as usual. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Have a nice day and a safe journey! Best regards!

Hello, thank you very much for your advice and the detailed answer! I have an appointment at the garage tomorrow morning and hope that it really is just the brake pedal position sensor and that the repair will be done quickly. I will keep you up to date! Thanks again and have a nice day! Best regards!
